Faculty Development Goals and Policies
As a Jesuit institution, Sophia University is committed to developing faculty who embody the University’s founding principles and educational mission and contribute to the realization of the Diploma and Curriculum Policies of their respective academic units. Through excellence in teaching and research, the University seeks to cultivate faculty with advanced knowledge and expertise, a strong commitment to research ethics, and a deep sense of humanity, enabling them to contribute meaningfully to society.
To enhance teaching effectiveness, the University has established the Faculty Development Committee. It promotes institution-wide faculty development initiatives, including course evaluations, seminars, and workshops, to support continuous and systematic improvement in teaching and learning. In addition, each academic unit engages in unit-specific faculty development activities to strengthen both educational and research excellence.
